A: Salut! Te văd adîncit în lectură! Ce carte citeşti?
B: Bună întrebare! Greu de descris! Este oricum o lectură foarte interesantă!
A: Văd că este vorba despre Shakespeare.
B: Da. John F Michell investighează autenticitatea personajului istoric despre care se presupune că ar fi autorul celor 36 de piese în mod tradiţional considerate ca fiind scrise de un anume Shakespeare.
A: Sună foarte incitant! Mai degrabă pare să fie vorba despre o incursiune de investigaţie în lumea istoriei literaturii engleze a epocii elizabetane.
B: Să ştii că nu îmi vine să las cartea din mina nici chiar atunci cînd simt că stomacul meu îşi cere drepturile.
A: După ce termini de citit cartea poţi să mi-o împrumuţi şi mie? Să ştii că m-ai făcut tare curios.
B: Ţi-aş da-o cu plăcere, dar nu pot. Trebuie să o restitui bibliotecii.
A: Nu-i nimic. Voi face un drum la bibliotecă, cine ştie, poate mai au o copie în plus. Dacă nu, voi aştepta să termini de citit volumul ăsta.
B: Faci cum crezi. În cîteva zile o să o termin de citit.
A: O să încerc să rezist cumva pînă atunci. Ard de nerăbdare să citesc şi eu cartea.
B: Sper să îţi placă.

English Translation

An Interesting Book

A: Hey! I see you are absorbed by this book. What is it you are reading?
B: That’s a good question! It’s pretty diffficult to put it into words! Anyway, it makes a very interesting reading.
A: I see it’s about Shakespeare.
B: Well, yes. John F Michell looks into the authenticity of the historical character who purportedly authored 36 plays traditionally viewed as being penned by a certain Shakespeare.
A: It sounds quite intriguing! It seems to me that the book is more like an investigation in the literary history of the Elizabethan age.
B: Believe me, I find it hard to stop reading even when my stomach is demanding its rights.
A: After you finish reading the book, could I borrow it from you? You have made me really curious.
B: I wish I could, but I can’t. It is a library loan, so I must return it to the library.
A: Never mind, I’ll got to the library and see if they have an extra copy, if not, I’ll wait till you finish reading this copy of the book.
B: As you wish. I’ll finish reading it in a few days’ time.
A: I’ll try to somehow suffer in silence till then. I am so eager to read the book myself.
B: I hope you like it!
