戈 gēAncient Chinese weapons and Chinese pictographic characters (295)

The dagger-axe, 戈gē, appears as a radical component in numerous Chinese characters related to weaponry. This film shows how the ancient Shang people recorded their weapons in writing. Please support by liking and sharing the video. Your feedback comments are most welcome. When you start learning Chinese writing you should begin with very basic characters. Never learn these characters in isolation. If possible, learn an expression which includes that character. You should also try to see whether the simple character is used as a radical component in complex characters with related meaning (just like in today's example). Maybe the simple character is used as a phonetic component. Watch until the end to understand my point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwdAv2SZvFs&t=93s
