Simple but rare Chinese characters 794.2.71
Why bother simplfying Chinese characters if very simple Chinese characters are barely used, to say the least.
How is it possible for a simple character like 子 to be so common (HSK 1), while at the same time the two equally simple and almost identical characters 孑and 孓 are drowned in anonymity?
This video is about three Chinese characters 子,孑 and 孓. You may know only the first one. The other two characters, despite looking almost the same, are very uncommon. Watch the video to find out why.
I recommend the video to people fascinated by the Chinese writing and its history.
